Hi, Sorry for the following, but I'm a complete newbie with this thing. I think the one I have is running debian. When I try to ssh into it, it will not accept the password for the 'debian' user, which I know is correct. OTOH, when I am using the console, it logs in as this user without asking for a password. I have tried changing /etc/inittab to specify a different initial runlevel (the default was 2, not sure why) but this did not help. I'd like to require a password for log in to the console and accept the correct password by ssh.
