Hi, I've been working with the official release for some time
(3.8.13-bone50) and I've got LEDscape
(https://github.com/Yona-Appletree/LEDscape) working well. However I'm
running out of space on the mmc, even after aggressive efforts to flense
the OS of anything 'desktop' related. I tried updating to the latest
console debian in the wiki (3.8.13-bone69) and I love it, but I can't get
LEDscape working. Instructions for LEDscape are:

git clone git://github.com/Yona-Appletree/LEDscape
cd LEDscape
cp /boot/am335x-boneblack.dtb{,.preledscape_bk}
cp am335x-boneblack.dtb /boot/
modprobe uio_pruss
reboot

I noticed the dtbs have been moved to /boot/dtbs/3.8.13-bone69/

It seems that the am335x-boneblack.dtb there is identical to the one
distributed with LEDscape. I try LEDscape and I get the error:

pru_init:44: prussdrv_open open failed

So I try replacing the dtb and reboot and try again same result. lsmod
shows the uio_pruss module loaded. At this point I'm thinking downgrade to
bone50, but 'apt-get install-linux-image-3.8.13-bone50' has no candidate.
Any ideas? Is there a slim debian with an older kernel I should try? Or
maybe a way to downgrade the kernel? Or am I missing something I need to
get LEDscape running?

Thanks for reading, greatly appreciate it!

-Ryan
