having been away from my BBB for a couple months, i just want to clarify the latest content i can download and play with.
for a class i'm teaching in a couple weeks which will incorporate the BBB (2G version), i'm interested in: * recent bootable image * matching flashable image * from-scratch build which would (ideally) match the above so far, here's what i've found. in terms of pre-built images, i'm looking at http://rcn-ee.net/rootfs/bb.org/, and since i'm happy to live dangerously, i'm looking at "testing/2015-03-08" and, since i can currently live without a graphical interface, i assume i want the directory "console", but i'm a bit confused about the files i find there: http://rcn-ee.net/rootfs/bb.org/testing/2015-03-08/console/ what means "blank" in the image filenames? and "BBG"? a README in some of those directories would be useful. also, in terms of building from scratch, i'm looking at this: https://eewiki.net/display/linuxonarm/BeagleBone+Black and figure i can use that as a starting point, and just update references to the latest branch for some of the software. anyway, i just want to write a short tutorial to get students up and running with their own working BBB by the end of the first day, so condensing a lot of that info down to the bare minimum is what i'm after. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
