Sorry, just got back from town. You're saying we're going to have to write
our own device tree files ? I figured this would work with existing 3.8.x
device tree capes . . .

Not  a complaint, but a concern. I noticed the current universal-io script
was written with dash in mind. Typically, when I configure a new image the
very first thing I do is sudo dpkg-reconfigure dash -> No. To disable dash
. . . as it gives me grief with *some* ( can't remember which ) development
tools. Anyway, just putting that out there. For whatever it's worth.
