That depends on what software is in question, and which user we're talking
about. If we're talking something specific to this open sourced project.
Then the answer is no, not really. If we're talking about kernel / module
improvements, or often used Debian tools. Then yeah, sure.

Are you saying that this company, with this project is improving the
beaglebone by way of creating / fixing / improving existing kernel code,
module code, or Debian software ?  Because if they're not doing any of
these things, then to me, their project is moot.

Don't get me wrong I think it is still great that companies are coming out
with open sourced stuff like this. It's just not that useful for me, and
many others I'm sure.

With that said, it would have been a greater service to document the build
process from start to finish - 100% Software, hardware, and in sort of a
diary fashion. But yes, that would have been a lot more work. Probably more
work than anyone could really expect from another person, or entity.
