took me some time but I managed to update to 4.1.10-ti-r21.
Situation didn't improve much... In dmesg output I do not have the listed 
hub error messages any more but unfortunately what followed, i.e. the 
abrupt USB device disconnection, it is still there and even less 
characterized.
I list the new kernel output and the old kernel output, relevant part only, 
first message few thousand seconds after boot completes and no dmesg lines, 
 below for your comparison.
Could I enable more usb related kernel messages, somehow? 
If you can share some light on what you think it is happening I would be 
glad.
