I’ve been trying to use the UART on my BBB and I’m having some trouble to figure out why it is not working. To test I have a jumper line between P9.21<=>P9.22 and using a loopback test. The first Putty session (cat /dev/ttyO2)does not respond with any “output”. I thought this would be easier and my google searches indicate this should work. root@beaglebone:~# uname -r && cat /etc/dogtag 4.1.13-ti-r33 BeagleBoard.org Debian Image 2015-11-12 root@beaglebone:~# cat $SLOTS 0: PF---- -1 1: PF---- -1 2: PF---- -1 3: PF---- -1 4: P-O-L- 0 Override Board Name,00A0,Override Manuf,BB-UART2 root@beaglebone:~# ls /dev/ttyO* /dev/ttyO0 /dev/ttyO2 *Terminal 1:* root@beaglebone:~# cat /dev/ttyO2 *Terminal 2:* root@beaglebone:~# echo "hi" > /dev/ttyO2 many thanks for any assistance.
