If you are trying to compile the examples on the Beaglebone (no cross-compile), you don't need the TI SDK. The pru compiler and libraries are provided in the Debian 8.3 distribution.
There is a slight change required for the Make file in the examples to compile correctly. I've got most of the examples working and it is amazingly easy once you limit the problem to the essentials. Once you get past the provided examples and try to do something new, that is a new level of problems.
