Hey, William - 1. When I did the uname -a command, I got back a 3.8.13-bone79, FWIW. (This *is* Debian, correct?) 2. What do you mean by "reverse logic?" That I've miswired my transistor? Here's my wiring:
- drain comes in from LED - gate goes to P9, pin 23 (GPIO 49) - source comes from GND This is my understanding of the diagram in figure 6-2, but maybe I have it wrong. 3. my commands are analogous to yours, and I get no error messages. But whether gpio49/value contains a 0 or a 1, the LED stays on.
