I am using the latest debian image for BBGW from the Beaglebone website.

root@beaglebone:~# uname --all

Linux beaglebone 4.4.30-ti-r64 #1 SMP Fri Nov 4 21:23:33 UTC 2016 armv7l
GNU/Linux

root@beaglebone:~# lsb_release -a

No LSB modules are available.

Distributor ID: Debian

Description: Debian GNU/Linux 8.7 (jessie)

Release: 8.7

Codename: jessie

I am putting the BBGW board to standby using echo standby >
/sys/power/state . I can wakeup the board by applying 3.3V to UART0_RXD or
GPIO0_20 pins. But after wakeup the board shuts down.

This log is from the syslog file for the Suspend-Resume cycle:

We can see that the Suspend-Resume cycle is successful but nevertheless it
shuts down after resume.

I have tested the same image with BBB, and everything works fine in it. I
can successfully resume from standby mode without shut down.

I have also tried using different kernel images from beaglebone website and
i find the same shutdown behaviour in all of them. Also it works fine with
BBB. My understanding is that both the boards use same SOC AM3358 1GHz ARMĀ®
Cortex-A8 and Power Managemnet IC TPS65217C. I am also wondering what is
the difference between BBB and BBGW which could cause this behaviour.
