I have the same exact issue. Unfortunately I am also at a loss. I can hook
my BBB to my router via ethernet no problem, but the USB network does not
show up on my Mac. I have installed all the latest drivers, and I also have
no issue with a Green that I have. It is just my Black that I can not
access via the USB network.
