After successfully flashed the eMMC with latest (October 2017) Stretch IoT
and by booting from eMMC, the system works fine, except for an error shown
after boot (2-3 seconds after prompting for login):

beaglebone login: [ 48.493475] Error: Driver 'ecap' is already
registered, aborting...
[ 49.076151] Error: Driver 'ecap' is already registered, aborting...

I assume I can live with that, but why occurs this error on a clean flash
and how can be avoided ?

Board is BBB rev. C, powered from a 5V / 4A supply, currently operated in
remote console mode / serial terminal using the UART header & a 3.3V FTDI
USB adapter.
