Hi Robert,

I finally got it working following procedure at the bottom of this 
link: https://gist.github.com/interwebjill/0b3dcdc56d2d9f0b646534a6207899f7

1. sudo vi /etc/xdg/autostart/myapp.desktop


2. Copy following in the file:

 [Desktop Entry]
 Type=Application
 Exec=/home/debian/./myapp
 Name=myapp
 Comment=Startup Myapp on load


And just restart, and Qt program loads at bootup.
