Hai,

I understand that you can either install Os (example debian) onto eMMC 
through the SDcard and boot from the eMMC 

*OR*

boot from the Sdcard

In choise 1 
If the loaded Os is very big, you don't have hardly any space left on eMMC 
to load additional software.

choise2
Then you have to use the SDcard to boot from which is by example 16 Gb, 
then you have enough space left.
*in this last case the eMMC is not used.*

Am I right or do I understand it wrong.

In my opinion there is no way to extend the eMMC with sdcard memory to 
increase this space.
