That did it! I exported pin 8.43:

echo 226 > /sys/class/gpio/export

And now the PRUs can write to the set and clear addresses for GPIO8.

I also exported 8.26:

echo 124 > /sys/class/gpio/export

And now the PRUs can write to the set and clear addresses for GPIO4.
