/sys/class/gpio is going to be removed: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/Documentation/ABI/obsolete/sysfs-gpio It was EOL'ed in 2008, with 2.6.27.. It should disappear some time this year..
