To my knowledge, Windows uses RNDIS, not CDC (note: my system, with
both a BBB and a BBAI connected, shows two "CDC ECM" failure to load, and
under network adapters shows "Linux USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget" [the BBB]
and "Remote NDIS Compatible Device #2")

You are unclear... WHICH device are you entering that command on.

So far as I know, CDC drivers are not available for Windows.
If, from the Windows computer, you can get a result from pinging the BB
you have a working Windows<>BB connection.
However -- by default -- Windows does NOT gateway traffic from client
devices to ITS network connection. You have to enable/configure "Internet
Connection Sharing" to route from the beagle network adapter to the host
computer Internet adapter. I can't help with that -- I connect Beagles to
my router using Ethernet cables...
