I know I can filter them out. But given how little  value they give me, I
assumed that there would be other people who felt the same. The effort of
filtering is on par with the effort of subscribing, and I assume there are
more users than developers on this list, so it seems a reasonable request.

I don't know of any other projects where the discussion list gets CCed on
every issue update, for what that's worth.
