Want to add I think this is an awesome start, I've been searching for something like this for a while. I figured out I can "exclude" income from the budget if I just map the category to "Income" (e.g. Expenses:Taxes:Federal). Not sure if this is by design but this is something I have found lacking in other tools and I really dig it.
I'd like to jump in and help if I have some time because I think this can be a really great addition to beancount/fava.
