Hi Martin,
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for developing beancount. I have been
using it now for three months and could not be happier. Yes, it took quite
some time to import all my transactions and even longer to figure out the
import feature, but it was definitely time well spent. I am using the
vim-beancount plugin and that also works very well.
My journey to beancount has been a long one. I have over 20 years of
personal accounting experience on Windows, MacOS, and now Fedora. I have
used Quicken, MS Money, MoneyWell, Moneydance, Banktivity, and Gnucash
extensively and tried/trialed many others. Beancount is the first one that
seems to get it right. Indeed, I found many issues with my accounts during
the import process that the other software did not find.
Features I really like:

   - Multiple currencies.
   - Investments. I love the way capital gains are auto calculated.
   - Text file and ability to add revision control. Somehow having it in a
   text file is very comforting!
   - Integration with Fava.

I am also looking forwards to your implementation of trading accounts.
Otherwise I do not have any other suggestions at this time.
Keep up the good work.
Best regards!
John
