*bean-download* is a tool to conveniently download your transactions from supporting institutions. You configure it with a list of your institutions and arbitrary commands to download them, typically via ofxget <https://ofxtools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/>. It downloads all of them in parallel, names them appropriately and puts them in the directory of your choice, from which you can then import. The tool is installed as a part of beancount-reds-importers <https://github.com/redstreet/beancount_reds_importers>.
For institutions that don't support direct download, you can simply place a text reminder to yourself of any sort. For example, I place a link to remind myself of how to obtain Amazon purchases. Though it's a simple, front-end, convenience tool, I've used it very frequently for years now, and hence, it has all the bells and whistles - multi-threaded downloads - built-in config file template (including `pass` to securely store credentials) - classify your sites into arbitrary buckets and download just the bucket (eg: just credit cards) - full command line auto completion support, including your configured sites and buckets - progress bar, color output, yada yada Here is the *full article on direct downloads <https://reds-rants.netlify.app/personal-finance/direct-downloads/>.* And a short demo is attached. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Beancount" group.
