In my more idealistic moments, I like to think that good software sells itself. That you don't have to do anything beyond excellent documentation* to become popular. Unfortunately, this isn't always true.
Now that beanstalkd is starting to mature and we're on the verge of the much-requested persistence feature, I think our marketing could stand to be improved. Here are some ideas to start with: - prettier web site - more concise/engaging "getting started" documentation - links to the tutorials people have written - more thorough "end-to-end" client and server tutorial-style documentation - testimonials from happy beanstalkd users - links to a few high-volume/high-profile users - register beanstalkd.net or something similar Anybody else have thoughts on this? Any graphic designers out there who want a crack at this web site? kr * I'm not claiming that beanstalkd has excellent documentation. That's one of the things I want to improve! :) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "beanstalk-talk" group.
