            VINTAGE NAUTICAL SHIPS ANCHOR LANTERN
LARGE COPPER & BRASS MARITIME OIL LAMP

Large brass bale handle at top of lamp for carrying or hanging ship lantern -
smaller brass handle attached to base for securing ships lamp to boat line to
keep lantern secured on rough seas. It has side mounted riveted brass mounting
loops. The lantern is 22" tall and weighs 18 pounds.

This is a beautiful ship's lantern … The name `anchor ship lantern' commonly
refers to the style or chimney shape of the original ships lanterns made in
England in the 1800s. This particular lantern was manufactured @ 1934 as a
replica of the antique maritime anchor boat lanterns made in England. The thick
fresnel glass is a similar design as a lighthouse lens. Fresnel glass magnifies
and distributes lamp light 360 degree area creating a bright wide circle of
light. The lantern has removable self-contained copper oil reservoir which fits
into base. This is a fully functional boat lantern.

The chimney style lid opens for ventilation. The nautical lantern oil lamp
outfitted with a one inch wide wick. The Anchor maritime lantern uses lamp oil
or kerosene.

Check out the price on the Internet … these go for $350 and up IF you can find
one. I'm offering this one for sale at a starting price of $195 because I'm
tired of moving it every time I vacuum and wash the floors.

This will be packaged by UPS at a fee of $20.00 ... The actual shipping charge
will be determined by UPS once this item is sold and a delivery address
obtained. UPS said depending on what the destination is the price can
fluctuate. I chose the closest option, however, in reality it might take as
much as 6 days to reach its new home. For example, if it's going to stay in
Florida, the shipping charge will probably be @ $36 and the delivery time @ 2
days. However, if it's headed to Alaska, it'll be the higher end of the cost
spectrum and take 6 or more days.

I would highly recommend having this lantern insured. I have built the
packaging charges into the shipping, but the flip side is if you're somewhat
local to me, you can pick it up and there would be no shipping or packaging
charges!
