Hi! Do you mean that you don’t have a beets database, but some files have good metadata (fetched by beets) already embedded?
If I were you, I’d import the whole thing using -A (non-autotagged mode) and then re-import the poorly-tagged stuff using something like `beet import -L mb_albumid::^$` to find just the albums that don’t have IDs.
