Only when transcoding to other formats.  I used both Foobar2000 and beet
info to check the transcoded file: both had track gain info, but only the
original FLAC has album gain info.  I'll be happy to provide any other info
you need.

I did some command line tests with ffmpeg itself and got mixed results.
FLAC->Ogg always copied over album and track RG info.  FLAC->MP3 did the
same.  FLAC->AAC using fdk_aac only seemed to copy track gain info
