Well, what do you expect when using private identifiers? Better code:
if hasattr(value1, 'match'):
return bool(value1.match(value2))
return value1 == value2
Other options are a try/except, or `def _eq(self, value1, value2,
_re_type=type(re.compile('.'))):`.
