Congratulations!  That was the first thing I ever did in Perl also,
creating an interface to a database over the web, just for fun, to see how
it worked.  It was very addictive.  I had nothing to go on except the
Camel Book and perldoc... Next thing I knew, I was writing real
applications that other people could use and actually gettig paid to write
Perl. :-)
