Thanks for your prompt reply to my query.
The code snippet looks particularly useful.
However, I have found the problem. Although the mailing was the last thing
it does in the code, the mailer seemed to be sending the text file before
it had finished creating the text file.
As this is to be a cron job, I am sparking off the perl script in a shell
script, then calling the smptmail command (also from the same shell
script). This works a treat.
I shall certainly bear in mind your solution and try to apply it when I
don't have a dead line breathing down my neck.
