Quite. I downloaded the beta of Komodo and even on 800MHz machines, it is
SLOW. It takes a good 30 seconds just to load.. screen refreshes are
sluggish, yuck.

Now the editor is not too bad.. it certainly gets syntax hilting
correct far more than other editors I have used. The background error
checking is a nice feature as well.

However, it's just way too sluggish for it's $300 price tag.

I do like the remote debugging. I never got it work work from a Unix
command line, let alone a mod_perl program which is where I would want
to use it.

A good year or two ago I downloaded a trial version of a Perl editor
and debugger... it was fast and worked very well. Had nice features
like displaying variables during debug by just placing the mouse pointer
over them. It was designed to simulate a CGI environment.. with you
giving it input and it would display the output in an HTML window.
I didn't need the CGI simulating stuff, but I loved the rest of it.

Anyone remember this, and are they still around? I can't find them.
