To All:
I just want to thank everyone who participated in the last PERL IS NOT A
HIGH LEVEL LANGUAGE discussion. I learned a lot. You wouldn't think that
such a discussion would be useful, but just today, I got into a ("friendly")
flame war with one of my friends (it was on, of all things, a gaming mailing
list; Asheron's Call to be exact).
Now, this friend of mine I've known for well over 10 years. He's a
professional programmer, specializing in VC++ and VB. However, even someone
with his vast experience didn't really know anyting about Perl. He called
it a "non-compiled...scripting language...for non-serious [and/or]
non-programmers". Boy! Did I really let him have it!
Anyway, just thought I'd pass that along.
