A few personal tips learnt over the years:

- always retain the name of the person you are quoting
- wrap at 72 (or at max 76) chars
- always bottom post
- always quote in line (respond directly to each statement by itself)
- always politely recommend solutions to others who don't follow proper
list etiquette, until you have enough respect to be able to say it how it is
- *always* use Google to get perspective on who has responded to your
post until you slowly learn who-is-who
