1. I was able to subscribe to perl-xs using that address just fine back when I 
did it.

2. You may have lost the E-mail or it was dropped by a relay. You should check 
your spam folder. You may opt to using a webmail or a hosted E-mail service 
for that list (many of them give you IMAP / SMTP solutions) for better 
reliability. If that still fails, please contact the @perl.org and local E-
mail admins.

3. perl-xs is not a closed mailing list. Everyone can subscribe and thanks to 
the spam filtering infrastructure on @perl.org (which is very remarkable and 
an ongoing operation) anyone can post without being subscribed. I received 
both of your posts there.
