eventually your webapps are going to need some type of interface functionality. something really basic can be, having a checkbox that selects all the checkboxes in a group. that kind of thing you can only do with javascript. catalyst is going to introduce a lot of new concepts to you if youre new to perl, but its worth the effort. also take a look at dancer.
