That's as reasonable an idea as any. I could quibble, but I'd sooner see action taken than endless debate. The actual power of any moderator at this point is limited, I think, to requesting an end to certain threads. You can't remove anyone as far as I know; you could have someone removed from the mailing list but it is possible to post to this group via NNTP; that's how I do it. I don't think the means to prevent someone from coming in that way exists. Ultimately we are simply talking about an agreement to respect the requests of one or more people. So that when they request a thread be closed, there isn't a response of, "So who put you in charge... oh yeah."
