SB, I'm curious why you don't think OS X and perl get along? I'm running 3 Macs and I've never had any issues. perl and cpan both run very smoothly and I haven't done any special tweaking to get it that way, it did out of the box.
What type of issues are you seeing? ...and just curious, but OS X is unix. If you're comfortable with unix, you should be right at home with OSX.
