Nafiseh, That really depends ... databases can be faster, but then so can text files ... o http://www.perl.com/pub/a/2001/04/10/engine.html is an article I wrote describing one situation where it's *faster* to use text files in a search engine... The best thing to do would be to write a simple test case for each and to test them, using perhaps the profiler discussed earlier.
