The IP is not uniquely identifiable in a DHCP situation. You may want to collect such info as the MAC address as well. Are you storing this in a flat file, or some kind of db? -_-Aaron -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Falkenberg [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2001 6:18 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: IP accounting Hello List, Just about to begin a new project where I am going to start to create some IP accounting software using Perl or coarse. Before I being I woudn't mind getting some information from any one that has done any of this before. Firstly the network I will be monitoring will consist of users using DHCP on WinNT/98/95/2000 machies. Any ideas on where I would start with this?
