Hello there, this is kinda off-topic, altough it will help me for my perl scripting:)
I just got my laptop with windows XP Pro and Linux mandrake 8.1 dual boot. Now i'm really new to linux, I know ls and cd, I can login as root and go into the shell to type mysql and have that same mysql thing as in windows.. Can someone point me to some reading as how I can use my linux for testing. Apache is installed, it points me to a "sucessful" webpage when going to http://localhost/, mysql is also and perl also. I want to have that linux in order to develop/test my scripts. How can I create a user to log in with other than the root (with mysql access) Where do I put my script files?
