Okay okay okay...

I am now using a hash to hold the variables etc.. one thing I dislike and
wonder
if there is a way around it is using thre $hasname{$vaiable_name} is there
any way I could
possibly forgo the hash and use global variables?

that is, instead of calling the variables like above ($hash{$variable_name}
) use $variable_name
