I noticed gd.pm (version 1.15) is located at:
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux/GD.pm

I need 1.3.7

Basically, it's an upgrade, and I will install (linux)
from source. The question is, though, since I only found the GD.pm files and
no other accompanying files that usually come in a Gdpm .gz file, should I
just replace that gd.pm with the new one in that directory:
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/i386-linux/

and it should work? Is that possible?

Or assuming I must install from source the new .gz file, do you guys know for
certain if the install upgrades the GD.PM file by default? Are those other
accompanying files with the source installation needed to use the new GD.PM
features, such as stringttf which I cannot use now with 1.15, or is just a
replacement of the GD.pm file all that is needed?

Thank you

I ask as I didn't see any info on updating, just installing, when checking
out the gd.pm docs.
