When I use "perldoc" (e.g. "perldoc -f open"), I see stuff like this:
You may use C<&> after C<E<gt>>, C<E<gt>E<gt>>, C<E<lt>>, C<+ E<gt>>, C<+E<gt>E<gt>>, and C<+E<lt>>. How can I make it display those formatting codes properly?
