Well, I'm not on a Windows PC, so I can't check, but I would think it
should - AFAIK, all filenames in Windows (at least on the FAT fs -
might be differnet on NTFS) are really 8.3, only that you have a
hidden file in every directory in which the long names are stored so
that the limit can be emulated away... But why not just try and see?
