Hello, All: Does CPAN use http? I'm using it on a machine that has all ports except smtp/ssh/http/https blocked. (i.e., ports 22/25/80/443 are the only open ports)
I've just started using the CPAN module for the first time and am having some trouble during initialization: The process dies after it attempts to use lynx to connect to ftp://ftp.perl.org/pub/CPAN/MIRRORED.BY.gz. (It tries other methods to connect using ftp first too, but then dies after it tries lynx.) (Yes - Lynx is installed and is in the user's path.) -- Eric P.
