Seriously, you should always specify all the columns you want. If you 
don't want to type them in, you can always create your sql-string from 
code, like e.g.

my $query = "SELECT " . 
            (join ",", map { sprintf("col%02d", $_) } (0..80)) . 
            " FROM atable";
