It's good to see these every once in a while... % % This is a mail list of educated adults. We do not flame war over Exactly. It is possible to state simple facts (like that vi is the only editor everyone should ever use, should be taught in kindergarten to keep our children from going down the dark path of control keys and mouse clicks, and will eventually end war and world hunger, and that emacs is a bloated pig of a derailed endeavor that has gone far astray from its original premise) and even personal preferences (such as that the only good emacs is a dead emacs, not even worth the disk space the source code wastes, and that when I can get gvim for my palm pilot I'll once again be able to say that everything I have runs a proper editor the way God intended) without degrading to silly flame wars. The mere idea is baffling. % preferences. EMACS IS WAY BETTER THE VI. VI SUCKS :-) j/k. Hmmm... Don't know how *this* got in here, though... We ought to tweak the foul language content filter!
