Funnily enough, this is exactly where I was a couple of days ago. I think you are stuck this way if you can only receive e-mail, but if you can register nntp.perl.org as a NNTP server the just subscribe to the perl.beginners newsgroup. You'll then get both a 'Reply' and a 'Reply to Group' toolbar button.
