I'm side stepping your question ;) . After years and years of programming in Windows, I moved to Red Hat and was disappointed. I was hard for me to get things done (yes, probably most if the problems were mine: Linux Shock). Then a friend suggested SuSE. I have been a happy camper for the past three years with SuSE Linux (http://www.suse.com); the install is a snap and their 'YaST' control program - to install, update, configure, etc. software is VERY friendly. If you are just sitting there fuming over your inactive Red Hat machine, you might consider downloading (or buying the CDs - about $75US for the professional version). You will have an easy 25 minute install and excellent maintainability. I am NOT associated with SuSE in any way, and have nothing against the popular Red Hat Linux. But for me, SuSE started my Linux career! Aloha => Beau; -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
