Is this Advanced Server, then?  because otherwise you cannot use 8 processors.

That is a large script, and you are asking others fr a lot of work in helping you.  
One thing you can do to start is to:

use strict;
and deal with any errors encountered.

The compiler is your best friend.  It wll provide help in the form of syntax errors 
when  you have not clearly defined the values you have in your variables.  This should 
be your first line of defense against errors.  Try using strict and let us know what 
errors you get, marking the lines reffered to in your code.  That will help isolate 
potential issues.
