On the issue of indexing books with perl I have gotten several good responses. All of them are appreciated very much.
However, I am not sure what I want is out there, at least not in the *free* domain. That is, I want a program or script or set of these that will take a text such as the Apocrypha or the Qu'ran and produce a concordance like the ones found in many Bibles. These usually have a key word listed with references and the word contextualized following. For example: TAKEN Lev 6:4 must return what he has stolen or taken Isa 6:7 your guilt is taken away and your sin Mt 24:40 one will be taken and the other left Mark 16:19 he was taken up into heaven 1Ti 3:16 was taken up in glory So, perhaps I better just crack the books and learn perl to write my own program to do this.
