Hi all. This really belongs in the perl.beginners.cgi group, but I'm comfortable here so I shall stay for a while.
I've written a lot of CGI code in Perl, and now have to create and use a database which will provide the data for another CGI application. My only constraint is that I shall be working on Linux under Apache - there is no existing database and I can install what I want within reason, with cost being one of the major criteria. I know a lot of Perl and SQL, but I don't know of any standing conventions for this sort of stuff. Could somebody suggest what the most commonly accepted components would be in this type of application? I'm thinking mainly of which Perl modules and SQL engine I should use. Forgive me if there isn't a proper answer to this very general question. But be assured that, "There isn't a proper answer," is a proper answer and you won't lose any marks if you submit something like that :-) Thanks, Rob -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
